Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit sloppyjos.com, how we use it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data protection law.
1. Who we are
Sloppy Jo & Friends ApS (“Sloppy Jo’s”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for this website. Our deli is at Jægersborggade 10, 2200 Nørrebro, Copenhagen, Denmark. You can reach us at info@sloppyjos.com.
2. What we collect
- Newsletter sign-up: if you subscribe, we collect your email address.
- Contact: if you email us, we keep your message and the contact details you share so we can reply.
- Analytics (always on, no consent needed): we use Plausible Analytics — a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data or IP addresses. Plausible records aggregate page views, referrers, and anonymous events (e.g. which step of a form a visitor reached) so we can understand how the site is used without tracking individuals.
- Analytics (only if you accept): if you click Accept on the cookie banner, we additionally load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and records more detailed interaction data (device, session depth, scroll depth, click events). If you click Reject, Google Analytics does not set cookies or collect personal data on your visit. Your choice is remembered in your browser; clear your cookies or site data to be asked again.
- Cookies: essential cookies may be used where strictly necessary to make the site work (e.g. language preference). Optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set after you accept via the banner.
3. Why we collect it and our legal basis
- To send newsletters you have opted in to — consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
- To reply to your enquiries — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To improve the site and understand usage — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4. How long we keep your data
- Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Contact messages: up to 2 years after the last correspondence.
- Analytics: up to 14 months.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your data. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the site, deliver newsletters, or measure analytics (on our instructions, under a data processing agreement).
- Authorities, when we are legally required to.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Restrict or object to how we use it.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency — Datatilsynet.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@sloppyjos.com.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work. Optional Google Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner (shown to first-time visitors). Plausible Analytics runs for all visitors and does not set cookies. You can change your analytics choice at any time by clearing cookies or site data for sloppyjos.com in your browser — the banner will re-appear on your next visit.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you which version is current.
